Light Vs. Dark Beauty #beautiesonfire Link Up

By Elisabeth @onecutedoc

Attention Beauty Lovers. Welcome to the next Beauties On Fire themed link-up. If you don’t know about Beauties on Fire, make sure to check out this post. Our next theme was decided via a Twitter poll. Anyone could vote and our winner was…”Light Vs. Dark.” All the AMAZING #beautiesonfire members have written posts with their own spin on the Light Vs. Dark theme. I chose to do a natural vs. glamourous split-face look for the Light vs. Dark theme.

We took a week off last week from the collab. However, we are back and in full swing! We even have a few new members which I am so excited about. If you haven’t joined the Beauties on Fire Facebook Group yet, where have you been? Note: You DON”T need to take part in the collab to be a part of the group. We have become a total fashion and beauty blogger support group! We would totally love to have you!

For this week’s theme, I thought it would be fun to do a split-face look. I seriously love doing split-face looks. I did a natural (light) vs. glamorous (dark) look. I hope you enjoy it! Which do you prefer…natural or glamourous? What do you think of the look? Have you ever done a split-face look? Let me know in the comments below!

Also, make sure you check out all the links below and show some love (come back often to see which bloggers have posted). They are seriously so amazing. I know you will love reading them as much I have. Also, we are always accepting new members and anyone can join (see post above or rules below). Make sure you check out the previous week’s #beautiesonfire “Futuristic” link-up if you missed it.

Light Vs. Dark Beauty Look:

As I mentioned above, I love split-face looks! I have done a few throughout my blogging journey. I did a Spiderman vs. Vemon look and a Tarzan vs. Jane look. There is just something about split-face looks that makes me so excited. I think they allow me to be very creative and I love seeing both sides come together. The end result is so cool especially when you take the photos.

For the light vs. dark theme, I did a natural (light) vs. glamorous (dark) look. The natural look was very easy to do. I used very minimal eyeshadow and no eyeliner. I added only one coat of mascara to my lashes. I used a BB cream for my face and applied a baby pink blush. I applied the smallest amount of bronzer and highlighter. I finished the look with a pale pink lipgloss. I really like this natural look and it was so easy to do. It is perfect for those mornings that I am rushing around.

I started my glamorous look with bold brows. I created a very dark smokey eye using the Urban Decay Smoky palette. This eye look took quite a bit of time to create because it required a ton of blending. I created a strong wing and added a few layers of mascara before adding glamourous false lashes. For my face, I used my full-coverage Oxygenetix foundation. I also used a thicker concealer and “baked” my face. I applied a strong contour, highlight, and blush. I finished the look with a bold red lip. This look is definitely a “going out look” and I really love it. I want to do a full face look with this method and see how it looks.
