Life, According to Reese: Haters, Trolls and General Repugnant People

By Reeseatomic @reeseatomic

The internet is a big exciting playground where anything is possible. It opens you up to a world of new things; friendships, information, even significant others, but I am always perplexed by these small group of people who make the conscience choice of being a troll or a hater.

I have two trolls who loves to lurk me on Twitter and my blog. One I know in real life and it’s absolute mystery as to why this person hates me so much when I technically haven’t done anything wrong. Well, except maybe not have the same views, following the same football team and I eventually unfollowed them on every form of social media because they’re actually extremely depressing to following.

If that’s my only crime, well… geez, I’ve been a bad girl, haven’t I? How dare I have a different opinion to yours. How dare I back my friends and take their side when you’re arguing with them. How dare I, huh. How very dare I.

The other troll I had never met before, all I know is their name. Yet, they LOVE to log onto my blog, pick apart my life, heaven forbid I flaws and copy every last thing I do. Why this person decided it was a good idea to try and BE ME – again, another mystery of the universe, but good luck to them. It used to bother me that they wear the same perfume as me, think they have a lip balm addiction and collection like I do, but now I just pity them. Pity that they’re that insecure about themselves they can’t find their own identity, they need to copy someone else’s. Heck, it wouldn’t surprise me if this person decides to adopt a cat and name it after another animal like I did, or start dating my ex-boyfriend, or even like the same color. I’m immensely flattered that this person tries to BE ME. Proof that I must be awesome enough that I need to be replicated.
This person has written about me on their pathetic little blog, bitched about me to anyone who could be bothered to listen and even got it into their heads that they’re better than I am by calling themselves an upgrade – BAHAHA! Bitch, PLEASE!

As one of my closest friends had stated it perfectly…

“It must suck living in your shadow. It’s like replacing first place with last place. It’s unequivocal! They are that pathetic they need to check your blog and social media just to feel half as good and not even half as beautiful and happy as you are every single day. Do you see how tragic that is? And to call yourself an “upgrade” when they’re now with YOUR trash, what a joke! Trash belong with trash – it’s just that simple.”

So, my dearest trolls – feel free to continue to lurk my blog. You’re giving me a massive ego boost not to mention, amazing stats!

My trolls has sent me a couple of hateful comments, expressing violence and even an email saying that I should get my facts straight before I start slandering people in public. Yep, you all saw the screen cap I posted on Instagram.

When I first started this blog I’ve made it quite clear in my Media & PR section that I will not tolerate hateful, personal and abusive comments and feedback. It’s not because I don’t have a backbone; as trolls seem to think I don’t have. I just don’t have to put up with it. It’s a basic human right.

If someone is screaming at me in the middle of the street, I don’t have stand there and listen to them. I can turn and walk away. Same goes for trolls online. I’m not going to make everyone happy, I’m not expecting for anyone to agree with me, or for everyone I meet to like me or even be friends with me. But if someone is going to sit in front of their computer and threaten me, what I do and even have the audacity to threaten my career, I don’t have to put up with it and I will NOT put up with it.

If you just absolutely detest me, then why do you waste your time stalking me on Twitter and then posting a tweet about what you’ve just read on my account? What does that achieve? Ego points? Make you feel better about yourself? If that makes you feel better about yourself, then fine. You just look like an imbecile.

Take a stab at the fact that I’ve grown up in the Eastern Suburbs; a place I had asbolutely no choice to grow up in – it was my parents’ choice. All I did was just be born. So, if you want to have a go at where I was raised, take it up with my parents and tell them to get fucked and that they’re snobs. I couldn’t help it, just as much as I can’t help the fact that I’m 5’2, a Virgo and right-handed. But I’m proud of where I came from, who I am, where I went to school and the environment I grew up in. It doesn’t makes me better than anyone else; I’d be the first to admit that. I’m just saying I’m proud of the person I grew up to be.

All trolls do is waste your time. I’ve been online long enough to know that if you pay attention to one person who takes great pleasure bringing you down, you’re just giving them power. DON’T!
I took the easy road and used my trolls IP address to completely block them from ever viewing my website ever again. If that has changed I can find out different ways to block them because I just won’t entertain their BS any longer.

And as the beautiful Kevyn Aucoin once said…

“No amount of make up can mask an ugly heart”

…And sadly, both my trolls have the ugliest hearts.
