8th Annual “Chuck Tanner Awards Banquet”

The Rotary Club of Pittsburgh has announced the winner of its 8th Annual Chuck Tanner Major League Baseball Manager of the Year Award. Buck Showalter of the Baltimore Orioles is the 2014 winner.
Each year the Pittsburgh Rotary Club holds its Chuck Tanner Awards Banquet in Pittsburgh. The highlight of the event is the presentation of the Chuck Tanner MLB Manager of the Year Award as selected by a distinguished group of baseball professionals from around the country. Previous winners of the Chuck Tanner MLB Manager of the Year award are Joe Torre, Joe Maddon, Ron Gardenhire, Jim Leyland, Bob Melvin, Charlie Manuel, Davey Johnson and Clint Hurdle. The award presentation will take place at a banquet on November 15, 2014 at the Rivers Club in Downtown Pittsburgh.
The Master of Ceremonies for the event will be Dan Zangrilli of 93.7-FM “The Fan.” Returning to conduct the live auction will be James Roddey, former Allegheny County Executive.
Former Pittsburgh Pirates great Dick Groat will also be presented with 2014 Life Time Achievement Award at the event along with others, receiving baseball award presentations.
Erie native and nationally recognized Celebrity Sports Artist Kevin-John is returning to create a special limited edition Dick Groat memorabilia print for everyone in attendance and will be present to personally sign his creation. Kevin-John's artwork has been showcased on ESPN, Spike TV, and NBC, at Super Bowl XXXIX, XL, XLI and the PGA Tour.
