I just had to post this, since i’ve been getting a ton of requests for it, but many of you have been asking me, and tweeting me on what my version of “Kale Chips” are, and how I make them.
So for a quick little post, I figured that I would let you guys in on the little secret of how I make “Kale Chips”.
To start off, I don’t normally call them Kale Chips, I call them “Kale Crisps“, Haha, but like that matters anyway, as you can call them whatever you would like.
1. ) First off, I start off with buying either a bunch of Kale from the produce section, or usually it’s easier to buy the bunch of Kale that already comes in the bag.
2. ) Make sure that you also purchase salt & pepper, if you do not already have it, and just a small container of olive oil.
3.) Then make sure that you rip off the stems on the kale, because usually when you buy a bag of Kale even the stems are still on it.
4. ) Wash the kale thoroughly in cold water, and place the pieces of kale on a pan ( to use in the oven ) a few inches apart.
5. ) Slowly sprinkle the kale lightly with olive oil, not too much to where the whole pan turns greasy.
6.) After sprinkling the olive oil, just add a touch of salt and pepper onto the kale crisps, and put them in the oven for about 10 minutes, or until you see the kale turning crispy.
( You may need to flip a few pieces, as you do not want the kale getting too greasy. )
7.) After the kale is crispy brown, pull it out of the oven for a good 3 minutes, then eat away!
This is one of my favorite healthy snacks, especially for summer!
