June 2016 Favorites

By Townhousepalette @townhousepal

I don't really remember the last time I sat down and really did a Favorites Post. One of my goals this summer was to write a favorites post because it helps me wrap up the previous month and start fresh with the new one. If it is not obvious, I will be speaking of my June 2016 favorites
One of my most favorite videos to watch on YouTube are Favorites, especially from Clothesencounters (Jenn Im, link) and Claire Marshall (link), who are also mentioned in my post here. It just gives a nostalgic feeling and they are pretty relaxing to watch.

B E A U T Y

Garnier Micellar Water // After my dear Clarisonic broke, OMG I have a story about that, I have not been wearing makeup as often. I have quite uncontrollable skin as it is and to have left over makeup is not what I want. I have trying out the Garnier Micellar Water and I am quite pleased. I have been using my Selena Cotton Puffs (link) to apply it and it gently removes my makeup without leaving a thick residue. Granted, I have to go back to remove all my eye makeup and in total it takes three cotton pads to do my entire face, I prefer it much more to oil cleansing. However, I really want to try balm cleansing.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting (post here) // I got this earlier this year for my 18th Birthday (post here), but did not start using until a couple months later. I really enjoyed all the colors in the palette and it really gives me the pigmentation I want when I want to build up color nicely. I also played around with the Ambient Bronzer and really liked it to add some shine in between my luminous blushes and shading. It gives you that Jacklyn Hill blush/highlight/bronzer look.
Jenn Ne Sais Quoi Quad // This collection was the first purchase that I have done with Colourpop. I talked about the collection here, along with the three lip products, but I thought I would give you a run down. It comes with three neutral shadows, along with one dark reddish-brown, pushing on maroon, named Trois. I love the quality and all the shades are very wearable making it ideal for everyday wear. If you are makeup savvy, you can definitely use this makeup to go day to night. I really enjoyed using Trois on Eid because my outfit had some red in it.

Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation // I bought this on a whim because of the very cheap price of $8.00 and also because it was highly recommended by Miss Molly Ann on YouTube (link). She says whenever she wears it, she gets compliments on her skin. When I used it, it reminded me a lot of my coveted MAC Studio Sculpt foundation, but with less coverage and a bit more dewy.
My Beauty Diary Sheet Masks // This year sheet masks were huge with the expansion of K-beauty products and Sephora branching out to create their own line. I have been using sheet masks for years and the only ones I ever use are from My Beauty Diary, which is a Taiwanese brand. I think what makes me head-over-heels devoted to them is the cheap price and amazing quality. There are so many different kinds by them and a box of ten ranges from $8-$15 dollars. I like using the Black Pearl Mask which brightens and moisturizes skin to a supple state.

Final Fantasy XIII // This has been a long time coming... I got this game almost a year and a half ago on my 17th birthday. I had never played a FF game before in my life, so this was a new experience for me. The storyline was confusing, but reading up on it made it make a lot more sense and the graphics were so beautiful. Accompanying the gameplay had to be the emotional soundtrack or OST, with the lovely song Promise. The game was so hard and there were many times I was going to give up or tell myself I burn the game after I am done, but I am a little sad it is over because of the ending. However, I have FFXIII-2, so fear not, the adventure continues.
TV Shows // As for shows, I rewatched Parks and Recreation which gave me all the feels as I watched it the first time. I don't think I can choose a favorite episode or character because I like everything about the show so much!

CAVS BRING HOME A CHAMPIONSHIP! // So if you don't already know I am from the good ole land of Cleve, now known as Believeland and this summer I got to witness history being made as LeBron brought home a championship win. Great work, great work! Fun fact: someone stole an RTA bus during the parade, but didn't get far because he/she crashed it. Haha!
