July 2016 Allure Sample Society Review

By Elisabeth @onecutedoc

I was excited to see my Allure Sample Society Box in my mailbox. I usually love this subscription because they include well known high-end brands. They include deluxe size samples and sometimes FULL-SIZE products. A very detailed product description card is included. It is one of the best description cards I have seen. Allure Sample Society is now curated exclusively through Allure. They use to be curated through BeautyBar.

Cost: $15.00/month

Ships: To US only

FIRST IMPRESSION:

I love how well the Allure Sample Society Boxes come packaged! Everything looked so nice! I also really love the brands that were included this month. There were 5 products this month! I couldn’t wait to dig in!

REVIEW OF ITEMS:

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II

This is a sample size! It is a moisturizing anti-aging serum. I believe I have tried this before and thought it was pretty good. I have so many serums right now so I will probably give this one away.

GlamGlow SuperMud Clearing Treatment

This is a sample size. GlamGlow has such a huge cult following and for good reason. I love their products. I don’t have acne prone skin or oily skin; therefore, this mask isn’t really for me. I will give it away or use it as a spot treatment.

Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Super Strawberry

This is a deluxe sample. I love these chubby sticks and I really like this color. They really are so moisturizing and easy to use. I can’t wait to wear this one.

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Cream

This is a tiny sample size. La Mer is an extremely luxurious brand and this cream is supposed to be amazing. I can’t wait to try it and see if it lives up to the hype. One ounce costs $170 so it better be amazing!

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

This is a sample size. I have so many of these samples because subscription boxes love to include this product. I do like this product and it does a great job at priming the face. I save them for when I do wedding makeup.

OVERALL IMPRESSION:

This month’s Sample Society Box was just okay! None of the products really excite me that much and I have used many of them. All the products were sample sizes and small. I loved the brands that were included and I loved the detailed information card. I love seeing exactly why they included an item and their take on it. They have really been stepping up their game with this year’s boxes. However, this box was missing something. The value is definitely there. I love that they include very well known brands. I am excited about the chubby stick. What do you think of this box? Are you grabbing one? Let me know in the comments below!
