The Penguins are in the NHL playoffs for the 8th consecutive season. Awesome, just awesome.
As a fan I love this. I remember 10 years ago the Penguins were among the worst teams in the league. Now they are near the top. For them to qualify for the postseason for the eighth straight year is pretty cool, in my opinion. If I recall correctly, this streak is second longest to their run during the 90s, when Pittsburgh made the playoffs every year from 1990-1991 to 2000-2001.
Keep it going, boys!
I've been a die hard since the 09/10 season. Sure that's the year after we won the cup, but I was also only 12 years old then. So 5/5 on playoffs, and 5/5 on heartbreaks. Especially these past two years.

Also, I didn't even realize we clinched at the game last night.

Cool. I've been a fan all my life, but following closely since 2000-2001. The stretch from 2001 to 2006 was rough, really rough. I used to go to games back then, listen to them on the radio/watch on tv, and it was sad. So this stretch of success is pretty unreal.
All we can do is hope and pray this year does not end in a heartbreak. IMO last year was no excuse. The Penguins should've been in the Final., or at least extended the Eastern Conference Finals beyond 4 games. The chance we have this year is if the injured stars - Malkin, Martin, Letang - all come back by the time the playoffs start, in about 2 and 1/2 weeks.

Chemistry is going to be an issue. Our starting 12 has been consistently different all season, so I'm wondering how good we will play.
I will be honest, this season is probably the least amount of Penguins I've seen since that 09/10 season. Getting a job makes it hard to see a lot. And I don't really have any interest in watching the games on replay. I'm not in touch with this team like I have been. It sucks.

Good point about the team chemistry. The injuries and rotation of players has definitely shown an effect. Some of it can be attributed to coaching by scratching/dressing players. e.g. why Megna has not played in more games, despite his positive production. To me the defense is going to be a question. Bortuzzo and Orpik have not played that great lately. We need their physical presences during the playoffs.

That's something I really got to see at the game. How physical we played vs how they played, and as far as I'm concerned, we lost that battle. Columbus was very scrappy and we looked scared to hit back. How did it look on TV?
