Finished Last Week:
I love Jim Gaffigan’s comedy, and I really loved his latest book. I loved it so much in fact that I think my coworkers may have thought I was having a seizure as I tried to stifle my laughter while listening to his hilarious thoughts on food. Tears of laughter are ALWAYS a good thing. A fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen is a complete 180 from Mr. Gaffigan’s homage to food, but I figure it fit the weather. Plus, it was a freebie from Audible. Kate Mayfield’s memoir about growing up in the South in the 1960s in a funeral home was interesting, although I confess that I’m really not certain I understand her point in writing it. It’s been a while since I’ve read a vampire story, and I really loved Smith’s tongue-firmly-in-cheek Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. (Hey, I never said I read the most highbrow of literature.)
