I see a white satin-finish tube of something. It’s a Luxury Hand Cream from Mitchell and Peach. Never heard of this brand, which can be fun. The scent is Flora No. 1, which smells a touch floral, but there’s something else in there that I can’t quite place. The scent is subtle, which I kind of prefer in a hand cream. I don’t like whipping the tube out and driving away everyone in a 10 mile radius with a strong hand cream. J It’s a good size (1.1oz / 30mL) and it’s perfect for throwing in a bag, so I’m happy with this one! J
Hmmm. We have another Be a Bombshell item this month. Not gonna lie, I’m getting a bit sick of seeing these products in Ipsy bags. I don’t think I’ve ever really hated anything from the brand though, so maybe I should be thankful! J This month we have their Smooth Criminal Powder, which is just a white setting powder. Nothing too exciting or groundbreaking there. It’s a nice size for traveling (.14oz / 4g). I always comment on the traveling with these samples as though I ever need travel sizes! By the time I need something, they’ll probably all have expired! J But yeah, nothing terrible, nothing great.
This next item is exciting! It’s a Lipstick from a brand called Hikari. Yet another new one to me. It’s in the shade Cabaret, which is a gorgeous, slightly deep red that will be fantastic for fall. It didn’t seem terribly creamy when I swatched it on my arm, but maybe it will be just fine on the lips. It’s a pretty color and seasonally appropriate at least, so I give Ipsy a lot of credit for that.
Moving on to a brand I like, but a product that I’m not too sure about. For one, I think it leaked somehow. The seal is still intact and I don’t see any holes in the tube, but it definitely felt a bit sticky and I could smell the product on some of the other items. I guess I should say what it is. It’s the Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser from Nourish Organics. Sounds nice enough, but I’m wary of changing my skin care up too much since I’ve been having so many issues…for the past year or two. Grrr! It says that it’s fragrance-free on the tube, but I definitely detect a subtle scent. It’s intended for all skin types and not supposed to be drying or irritating. It’s also certified Organic and Leaping Bunny approved, so that’s a definite plus in my book! And it’s a nice sized sample (1oz / 30mL).
Finally, we have something that’s already popped up in my Fall Polish Picks (check those out here)! It’s the Pacifica 7 Free Nail Lacquer in the shade Red Red Wine. Absolutely adore this polish!!! J Not only is it a beautiful, fall-appropriate shade, but the formula is great too! J The brush is a good size – not too big, not too small – and it’s not too flat, nor too round. It’s almost opaque in just one coat and I definitely need to pick up more of these! And did I mention that it's also 100% Vegan and cruelty-free? Yea!!! Absolutely adore this full-sized sample! J
Overall, I think Ipsy had a decent month! It’s about time because I was starting to wonder about it over the summer. If nothing more, I am absolutely enamored with the nail polish! It’s my perfect deep red / burgundy that I have been hunting for for years. Definitely my favorite product in the bag! J Ipsy seems to be getting a decent ratio of makeup to skincare / hair care / body care, which makes for a nice balance. What did you think of this month’s bag? Would you subscribe or dump it? Should you be interested in an Ipsy subscription for $10/month, you can go directly to their website or use my referral link here. I’m excited to see what October will have in store! I can’t believe it’s almost here…how does time fly by so quickly?!?! I hope you’re all having a fantastic September and I shall see you again next week! xoxo
