Introducing: My New Dior Diorama

By A Mused Blog @Amusedblog

Living in Northern California’s Sonoma County is a blessing in so many ways: and one of those blessings is the ability to wear an outfit that allows for bare ankles and a bodysuit complete with cut-outs. It’s nearly February!
Growing up, I was taught that black went with everything: except for brown and navy. However after spending three winters, and one autumn season in Paris, I can tell you: brown and navy should definitely be mixed with black*. It can be so chic if done well. Granted, todays outfit was honestly thrown together around the simple fact that I have now owned this bodysuit since early November and it still had its tags on – it needed to be worn immediately, and today was the day.
I feel that my new Dior Diorama bag needs a post wholly dedicated unto itself, but that will need to come at a later time– as I have these images available now and will need to shoot the Diorama content at a later date. I bought the bag in Paris, at the Galeries Lafayette department store. I had wanted to purchase it at the new Dior Flagship near Rue Saint-Honoré, but it was during a grève générale march, and they closed the shop doors with me still standing on the store entrance steps. Honestly – it was rather surreal to be (gently) pushed away from the door and then locked out of Dior while holding a Prada bag (another surreal purchase), in the middle of an empty street while hearing police sirens in the distance, but it does make for a rather amusing story.
Per my usual – I purchased the bag and then somewhat freaked out. I didn’t remove the bag from it’s perfectly wrapped/perfumed encasement until New Year’s Eve…even though I had purchased it in early December. But I love my little Diorama. I had fallen in love with the style when it first debuted in s/s2015, and do have high hopes of purchasing it in a size medium within the next couple of years. We shall see…
My suede Manolo Blahnik heels I had hunted around for, for about two years…It took three sales associates to track them down, and my sweet friend Ruben finally found the last pair in my size, in Chicago, and had them sent my way. An honest review: they are beautiful, but boy do they hurt like hell after a couple hours. These are the 100mm, and I think 90mm is the highest I should go in Manolo heels. A shame really, because I love the way I walk in these; but no shoe is worth a pinched toe nerve – except for maybe these.
