Instafriday Time!

By Reasonstodress

Last week on Saturday I mentioned that I’m going to try to link-up my instagram pictures with InstaFriday at Life Rearranged every week.  And I offered a very conceptual art point of view to the whole Instagram phenomena.

I’m making more of an effort to use instagram, and although I admit I don’t quite know how to use it that well, so far so good!

Feel free to find me on Instagram here !

 InstaFriday take 2

This week I went to the antiques market in the Piazza of Modena, had lunch with my man, toddler and friends at my favorite brunch place the Caffè delle Passioni housed in a converted warehouse turned contemporary theatre. One of my dear friends came to visit from Rome with her beautiful daughter and Roman husband who gave me my first photography lesson for my new camera!  Together we went out for “gnocco fritto” a typical breakfast here in Modena, which consists of a deep-fried savory dough that you eat with prosciutto crudo or mortadella, they even dip it in their cappuccino! We spent New Year’s together and had a super week together that I posted about here.  The Roman even offered to make us all an authentic Carbonara pasta that was delicious (his recipe will be up soon on the blog!) After we walked them to the train station I took a few pictures along the way of the Military Academy and various pretty street scenes and we ended up at the library for a reading date.

January 6th

January 6th is the “Befana” in Italy, which is a National holiday.  In the past a lot  of companies closed completely from December 24th to January 7th to allow all of their employees to take winter vacations.

This is now a thing of the past, but many see the first week of January as a time for slowing down and spending time with family in the New Year.  This week, I took a bit of a blogging vacation, writing less, commenting less and focusing on my guests, baby and family and it was fantastic.

Next week, starting on Monday (even though it is technically a holiday), I’ll be right back into the swing of things with a fresh posts for every day of the week.

I hope you come back and visit again and thanks for stopping by!
