Indie Sunday - Pomegranate Nail Lacquer

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!
Meet Tina from Pomegranate Nail Lacquer.

When did your love for polish begin? While I didn't start painting my nails regularly until my teens, my love for polish began in childhood. My mom has always had long, gorgeous, healthy nails, and she made a habit of giving herself manicures every week. I would sit and watch her and admire the way the bright colors just glided onto her nails so elegantly and artistically. She used to paint a lot, and I have always loved to draw, color and design things for as long as I can remember. So nail polish for me is really an artistic medium and creative outlet as much as it is a beauty product. I definitely express myself through the color(s) I choose to wear that week.
What made you decide to start your own polish line?I loved the idea of designing everything myself, from the logo to the bottles and colors and names. Naming polish colors has to be one of the most fun aspects of having your own line! I decided to just go for it. My parents have run their own business for the past 20 years, so forming my own business was not as scary of a thought for me as it could have been.
What's the inspiration behind the colors you create? It can be anything that I see and love, an abstract concept, or an ideal that you'd find in a certain scenario or work of art. For example, one of our most popular shades (which is sold out) was Curator, a black jelly with gold and silver glitter. That color combo reminded me of nighttime but also of art, jewelry and sophistication. So the idea of an evening gallery opening came into my mind, and from that I thought of the name Curator. The theme of our latest collection was Royal Fairy Tale, and the gold-capped vintage-style bottles were meant to evoke a sort of classic fairy tale style. I love fantasy stories and just thought it would be great to model a collection after common themes in these stories. Fairy Berry is a shiny, shimmery purple and reminds me of something a fairy might wear--a very stylish fairy with great taste. ;)
How many polishes do you have in your stash?I actually haven't counted, but probably around 100. I'm probably a terrible business owner because I do sometimes wear other brands besides my own, but I can't help it, there's just so much awesome polish out there!
