If Life

By Mike Bullock

If life was as it should be
And everything was great
There was no catastrophe
Arriving at our gate
Perhaps we would cease praying
And do it all ourselves
We’d leave our blessed saviour
Lying idly on the shelf.

But life, it can be dangerous
You never can fortell
Today you may be heavenly
Tomorrow, down in hell
So during times of plenty
When everything is fine
Remember who provided you
With such a prosperous time.
