“I Will Announce Plans for Us to Meet” Bobi Wine Sends Message to Kenyans After They Stood up to Condemn His Arrest and Torture

On August 23rd 2018, hundreds of Kenyans poured to the streets of Nairobi for a peaceful demonstration to demand for the release of Bobi Wine.The demo was spearheaded by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and the Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) following revelation that Bobi Wine was tortured in detention.

Bobi Wine has appreciated the support Kenyans showed him while he was in detention. The firebrand MP says he plans to meet Kenyans very soon to interact with them.“I will soon announce plans to reach out and thank all those who have stood and continue to stand with us in this struggle against dictatorship. Specifically, let me assure our dear brothers and sisters in Kenya, as well as other fraternal African countries that I have read your countless messages of solidarity. Very soon, I will announce plans for us to meet, interact and sing songs of freedom,” said Bobi Wine in a press statement.
