Hype Or Not: Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb Review

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

Some people may think I have a problem with buying too many beauty products, but luckily, it has become my job to know what's new, what's good, and what's not in the beauty industry. So that's why after reading quite a handful of positive Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb review, I know I have to try it for myself. I already encountered many products with so much hype, some lived up to it like the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, while some I find mediocre like the Son & Park Beauty Water. So is Belif Aqua Bomb just all hype or not? Scroll down to read my review.

WHAT IS IT?

Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb is another cult-fave Korean beauty product which surprised many people when it has become available in Sephora. It is a super lightweight oil-free cream-gel that claims to 'bursts' and refreshes the skin while providing it with rich hydration. Formulated with lady's mantle that's rich in antioxidants, this moisturizer helps to neutralize skin-damaging free radicals while improving skin's elasticity and minimizing pores. This weightless formula absorbs into the skin quickly and completely, keeping your skin soft and supple without leaving behind any sticky residue.

INGREDIENTS: It's formulated without any mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, dyes, preservatives or animal origin ingredients, making this suitable for even the most sensitive of skins. You can read about its full list of ingredients to find out if it has irritants and the safety in long-term use in this CosDNA Analysis.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: As the last step to your skincare regime, scoop out a small amount and apply on to the skin and pat gently for better absorption.

SCENT: It has a slightly herbal and boozy scent.

PACKAGING: It is packaged in a sturdy plastic jar with a black screw-on cap that kinda resembles a little top hat. It also has a box that shows what the product contains and other stuff they promote.

FORMULA: I really don't get the term "cream-gel" and vice-versa, for me, it's either a gel or a cream and the formula and texture of this Belif Aqua Bomb for me is more like a gel. Lightweight, non-sticky, and absorbs well and quickly into oily skin. Plus, it's color light blue and leaves no kind of cast at all.

TYPE: Normal to oily/ combination skin type.

RESULT: I have been using Belif The True Cream Aqua Bomb around a month now. I like that it kept my skin hydrated and moisturized during the coldest months of the Philippines, and it also makes my skin look supple and feel so bouncy in the morning but... I still find this cream mediocre. This product actually reminds me of the Huxley Fresh Cream & More, they're almost the same from the texture to results, but I wasn't disappointed in that product. The difference? I don't have any expectations with Huxley when I received it for review but with Belif, it was high due to all those reviews, plus I bought it with my own money and it's quite pricey. Lastly, only a small part of my left cheek have visible pores because my hormonal acne is rampant in that area, upon using this cream (take note only a month) which promises to minimize pores, well, I haven't seen any improvement yet. I will update this post when I finish the whole jar and if I see any improvement in my pores.

VERDICT

PROS: It's lightweight, absorbs quickly into my oily skin, moisturizing, hydrating, and it has a refreshing cool feeling whenever I apply the cream. Plumps and makes my skin feels bouncy.

CONS: Pricey and this cream contains alcohol which can turn off some people.

Regarding the claim that it minimizes the pores, I'll update this post when I finish the whole jar.
