How to Get Bright Looking Eyes with Makeup

By Amber Johnson @AmberCJohnson

Have you ever wished your eyes were bigger? more bright-looking? that you looked more awake when you’re tired? Well, all of you wishes are now granted! You can do all of those things, simply with the use of makeup! All you have to do is follow the following instructions and you’ll be able to go from small, sleepy looking eyes, to a bright-eyed anime character! Okay, Amber maybe not that far, but you get the gist.

Step 1: Define your crease. To do this, use a brown eye shadow that’s darker than your lid color, and blend it into the crease using a blending brush. This will make your eyes look more 3D.

Step 2: Brighten your inner corner. To brighten up this area, use a shimmery white eye shadow and place it right in the inner corner of your eyes. It will attract more light and make your whole eyes look brighter!

Step 3: Apply white eyeliner. Use a white eyeliner pencil to whiten your water line and a small amount of your lower lash line. This will visually extend the whites of your eyes to make it look like your eyes are bigger than they really are, and at the same time brighten up your eyes.

Step 4: Circle Lenses! This step is optional, but by applying circle contact lenses, you can fake bigger irises, which make you not only look cuter, but makes you look more wide awake and bright-eyed. If you do this step, you will definitely start to resemble an anime character for sure!

Step 5: Black eyeliner. Line your upper lash line with black eyeliner to make your eye shape more exaggerated and defined. Wing it out for an elongating effect.

Step 6: Apply Mascara. Mascara defines your lashes, and you want every aspect of your eyes to be defined. Don’t forget about your eyelashes!

That’s all there is to it! Doing these things are a bunch of the ways to use eye makeup to fake bigger, brighter, and more awake eyes. Try it out yourself, and see how it works out for you! Tell me if you got the effect you were going for!
