How to Apply False Lashes w/ EMMA Magazine

By Bloomer14 @Bloomsaturation
I had the pleasure of putting together a basic lash application tutorial for this months issue of EMMA Magzine! My focus was to keep it fast, simple, and easy for everyday wear. This is a perfect and basic technique for those of you who love to enhance your natural features every day or if you want to start incorporating lashes into your evening looks for a little va-va-voom. All photographs were taken by the talented Sara Nevels of Talk Studios.

Step 1 & 2: First! Find a safe place to let a dot of DUO lash adhesive sit and get tacky while you find the perfect pair of lashes. Measure the lashes first to make sure they fit your eye shape. If they are too long, trim them from the OUTSIDE corner, not the inside. Apply a basic liner along your lash line using a black or brown gel liner and a thin liner brush. Next apply a solid coat of your favorite black mascara! See how in the next image below one eye has liner and mascara where the other does not? Its so subtle yet makes the biggest difference.

Step 3 & 4: Gently bend back the plastic holding your lashes so you can grip them easily and very softly peel them from the plastic container. Using the end of a brush (or other small safe object) dip the end into the DUO and drag the glue along the strip of the lash. Less IS actually more here. If you use too much glue it will take longer to dry and you risk the chance of it not holding immediately and moving around on you.Step 5: Place the lash along the outer corner of your eyelid not allowing the inner corner to touch the eye lid just yet. Once the outer corner is holding pinch the lashes in the center, then on the inner eye lid. Make sure to look down into a mirror (as shown above although the mirror isn't in the shot), this will keep your skin in its most natural state so that the lashes moves with you instead of tightening or pulling on your skin through out the day. Once the lash is secure press it up into your natural lashes to ensure that they blend seamlessly.
Voila!

Its almost "no makeup" makeup. No one needs to know these lashes aren't yours baby. Give it a go and let me know how it goes for you!
