How it affected circumcision your sex life?

You may have read headlines recently:

“« We know if having been circumcised or not affect your sexual pleasure»”
“« Sex is also good if you are circumcised»”
“« Circumcision does not reduce the sensitivity of your penis»”

These articles evoke all the same study by Queen’s University, Canada, who examined the differences in sensitivity between circumcised and uncircumcised penis.

But none of these titles is not quite true.

For the study, 62 volunteers brave, half of whom were circumcised, authorized that the sensitivity of their penis is studied at four locations: the acorn, two spots on the stem and top of the foreskin, if intact.

The scientists studied four types of sensitivity: the pleasant touch, pain, heat and burning.

In fact, they used a tiny thread that they have gradually tightened until the subjects feel it and until it hurts. For tests related to heat, they used a rod which heated gradually until the subjects detect heat, then until it burns.

The big question was: did the foreskin more sensitive than the rest of the penis, which would mean that the pull makes your penis less sensitive it should?
The answer actually depends on the kind of sensitivity we mean.

For the study found that the foreskin is more sensitive to touch nicer than the other three parts of the penis.

In terms of the heat sensing, the foreskin is more sensitive than the glans. Regarding the pain and burning, there is no significant difference between the foreskin and the other parts of the penis.

But the most important question is: what do these tests have to do with sexual pleasure? Being more sensitive to the burn or the touch of a wire makes it stronger sex?

Scientists do not know yet, says Jennifer Bossio, a doctoral student in psychology at Queen’s University.

Interestingly, subjects forearms were also sensitive to touch nicer than their foreskin. They are even more sensitive than the head and the shaft of the penis. Does this mean that we all wrong about sex – or the test of pleasant touch is not a good barometer of sexual pleasure. Jennifer Bossio looks for the second supposition.

“Some research suggests that the other three tests – pain, heat and burning – activate nerve fibers associated with sexual pleasure, she said. This is certainly something that we need to dig deeper. ”

Conclusion: the scientists are still not sure whether circumcision affects sexual pleasure.

This could affect the sensitivity during sex or not. It could also vary from one person to another. Referring to the study on which she worked, Jennifer Bossio think, whatever the potential effect of circumcision on sexual intercourse, it is “minimal”.

This study does not confirm whether having sex with a foreskin is identical to the fact of not having.
Some claim that uncircumcised men the foreskin rolls back and forth on the glans penis during masturbation and sexual intercourse in a nice way. It’s a feeling that circumcised men will never experience.

The partner can feel the difference
Professor sex education Debby Herbenick wrote that she had her first experience with an uncircumcised man, “I could feel his foreskin move against the walls of my vagina. This is a new and wonderful feeling … It seems that feeling helped me to achieve orgasm more easily during vaginal penetration. ”

An article published in 2013 in the Journal of Sexual Medicine suggests that the foreskin has no influence on sexual life, finding that circumcision does not handicap sexual function, sensation, satisfaction or pleasure.

For better or for worse, most men suffer the decision of their parents. Thus, almost 60% of newborns are circumcised at birth in the United States, according to the Control Centers for Disease Prevention. In France, the number of circumcised did not exceed 14% in 2008.
