How I Wore My Natural Hair This Summer

By Savvybrown @savvybrownblog

The heat this summer has forced me to change up my style a bit. Y’all know I love my twistout, but when it’s 125 degrees outside, my hair goes up. So I thought I’d show you some of the styles I’ve been sporting this summer. Some (if you follow this blog) you’ve seen before, some are new.

Pineapple

I put my hair in two-strand twists, and then tip my head over and pull the twists as high up on my head as possible. Then secure it with one of Tomoka’s Twists. A few twists are left out in front for style.

Messy Twisty Bun

This is similiar to the “Pineapple”, but the twists aren’t pulled up as high on my head. I used a silky scrunchie and instead of pulling the hair al the way through the scrunchie, I only pull it halfway. Again a few twists are left out in front for style.

All of these style I’ve been doing right after I wash my hair, and wearing the styles themselves for a week. During the week I will take my hair down from the style sometimes, (but I don’t untwist) just so I can spritz the strands with [leave in conditioner] or re-seal the ends if it’s been a really hot day.
