Yesterday I was provided with a pod cast featuring Aggie MacKenzie, most prominently known from the Channel 4 series titled How Clean Is Your House? where she provides her ‘green clean’ tips for autumn to share with EnvironmentGreen.com readers.
She goes on to remind us that as summer comes to an end and closes another great chapter of great barbeques, camping, parties and other holiday activities, it comes time to clean up and prepare for the coming colder months ahead. Aggie MacKenzie from ‘How Clean is Your House’ has years of experience sorting out other peoples homes, where she has gained plenty of tips for getting a clean and tidy house.
“An important part of this is making sure we recycle as much of our waste as we can, and don’t just throw it in the bin. Despite the fact that two thirds of us believe we recycle to the best of our ability the majority of the time, over half of us (55%) admit to binning waste we know can easily be recycled. What’s more, a third of us don’t recycle everything, when we can’t be bothered, according to new research commissioned by Tetra Pak. Aggie is working with Tetra Pak and WRAP to encourage people to also look at how green their cleaning habits are. She believes that recycling is not only great for the environment, but a great way to help keep your home clean and tidy.
The research also reveals that over a fifth of us rarely recycle waste in the bedroom or bathroom, and over a third of us admit it is often just laziness that stops us from separating out recyclable waste from the rest.Furthermore it seems over a fifth of us (22%) are too hung-up about coming across as an ‘eco warrior’ or ‘green nag’ to encourage others to adopt green habits.
So are you a recycling guru and if not just ‘How Green is Your House’?
