Holiday Bliss

Rome

I have just come home from a fantastic holiday. Rome was just a dream. Everything about the place was so relaxing and breath taking.
Rome is a place for everyone, couples, families, groups of friends or just on your own.
The people were very friendly and chilled, there was a very laid back atmosphere even though there was a lot going on, so it was easy to enjoy. The food was just beautiful and when you took the time to find it, it was authentic.
I went with my boyfriend and two of our friends. We only went for 3 nights and 4 days, so we had a lot to pack in and boy did we see and do a lot.
Day 1-
Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps
Day 2-
Tour day- The Colosseum and the wine tasting with a de-tour-
(we went to see the locals and they loved us :D )
Day 3-
Vatican City and The Beach- (we traveled outside Rome for a paddle.)
Day 4-
Homeward bound :(
Tips-
Booking your activities before your holiday is a good idea, as you don't have to worry about queuing or spending half your holiday money on tours.
Tour Guide-
Pocket Rome was the one I used. It had everything in it from Top sights, Local life and helpful tips on each attraction.  The guide had a lot of useful information about public transport, how to use the metro and cost of tickets. The guide is split into sections for each attraction, information is shared about the place and a list of restaurants for around each area. It also gives you the Do's and the Don't s  There is two pull out maps, one for the underground and the other for getting around Rome. It was good but missed out most of the side streets, so we got lost but that's part of the fun.
I purchased the guide from WaterStones £7.99
Fashion
When you think of fashion in Italy, only one word comes to mind and that is "Style."
Normally before a holiday I go for the basic items like bikinis, shorts, tops and a plain maxi dress/skirt. This holiday to Rome was different, at first I did a panic buy, thinking I have nothing stylish in my wardrobe, but really I did and it was just creating style with what I had. The only pieces I spent on were, bits of jewelry from Topshop and my fabulous nails, done by a local Liverpool salon.
Doing research about the place before you go is a must, as you find out about other areas and activities that aren't in the the tour guides.
I had the best time in Rome and I advise everyone to take a visit, there is always something to see and I am definitely going back again.

Ciao! for now.
