Hello from the Southern Hemisphere

By Thebangtoddowenwaldorf @BangLiving

I enjoy the bus rides.

I arrived to Western Australia and then went swimming in one of the most amazing beaches I have ever been to.  The sun was setting and when we walked down Sahyma gave me a handful of mint from a tree.  We crushed it and it immediately had the best aroma (which smelled nothing like the mint I was expecting).

I live in a camper.  The camper is on a hill.  I don’t have tv, a shower, microwave, or bathroom.  I like it, a lot.  I finished reading Crime and Punishment.  It is a fantastic book and in the top 5 books I have ever read.  From the front of my caravan is a hill.  I’m at the top of it.  At the bottom of the hill is a kiwi tree.  To the right of the caravan is a bathroom like you might find at a national park.  The adjusting from one place to another has been interesting to me.  I am glad that I have had the opportunity to experience so many different settings regarding living quarters.  So ya, the caravan is great.  I don’t have internet either, as you might have guessed.  I take the ute into town and use the internet at a News stand.

Driving the ute to the Southern Ocean

The biggest spider I have seen since I arrived to Australia was in my camper the other night.  It was as big as my fist.  No snakes yet.  I’m ok with that.  There is a bakery that won the competition for best meat pie in Australia last year here.  I thought that peculiar since I have been raving about meat pies.  It was good, but it didn’t blow my mind.  The crust was fantastic though.  I will try some more from there before scoffing at their ‘best of’ designation.

I’m doing a fair amount of work.  I finished brush cutting down the side of Mt. Shadford today.  I also just finished picking apples for the market tomorrow and macademia nuts from the ground.  Earlier I cleaned up a path here that reminds me of Walt Disney World.  The path is perfect.  It even has a bench in the middle of tulips.  I cleaned up the pond yesterday.

Things are pretty simple right now.  Western Australia is much slower than the east coast.  It has been a nice experience.  There are only 5k people in the town that is 15/km away.  On the weekends I get to drive the ute to the beaches.  If I weren’t getting in the ute to go to town to get on a computer and then post this than I would go into great detail of them, but I do and I also have to come back and pick some squash for the market tomorrow.

Cheers Everyone!
