I know I have put blogging on the back burner lately, but I have a valid excuse – the LEOW (law enforcement officer wife) life has begun! His official journey started at his graduation on 29 December, at Madison Square Garden. There were 880 graduates out of the 974 that initially started the academy. It was a long, hard road, but one that was well worth it to see my husband succeed at his lifelong dream. Of course I took tons of pictures!
As most of you know, Detectives Ramos and Liu were executed on Saturday, December 20th – my birthday 😢 As a touching and poignant tribute to these fallen officers, they saluted them on the big screen above them rather than the traditional throwing of the white gloves.
My husband is standing at attention for Air Force service in the following shot:
DeBlasio spoke of course, but not without heckling and jeering. These best was when he said, “…you will face all kinds of problems, problems you did not create…” To which one person shouted back, “NO, YOU DID!” Everyone laughed and clapped. Well done, dude 😉
After the graduation, we met for a photo-op with the new PO in Penn Station. Decked out in his dress blues, we all took pictures.
Father & son PO’s 😊
And the after party!
And a shameless kitty shot for good measure 😉
