Halloween Ideas

By Simplebird12 @Victoria_Cheryl
It's that time of year again and my favorite time of year. Halloween is a holiday where creation comes alive and to help you bring out your creativity side, I have a few ideas for you to use or to add your own twist to.
Some of the pictures that I have used in this post are designed by Clare O'Sullivan who is co-owner of Addicted To Pretty, based in the UK. I had the pleasure of Clare doing my make up for the Liverpool Brazilica Carnival I took part in, and from the pictures below you can see how beautifully the make up was done. Each year Halloween becomes bigger and a lot more festive with creating many amazing looks. people start to up their game in creating the best costume or make up look that they can show off to their friends. So start jotting down some notes from the designs below.

Glamour and Beauty

A lot of the fun is created for the night time, but with this being one of my favorite occasions, I like to celebrate the whole day. one way is by adding something different to your everyday look.
-Colours can change to blend in with the occasion.
-Clothing with certain symbols that relate to Halloween can be used. Skulls, Bats, Cats or even Pumpkins.
-You can change your make up without over doing it. Dark shades for your eyes and lips for a simple look or to add a bit of creativity add more detail.

Clare has created some beautiful looks that can be for both day or night. The night sky eye design is one of my favorite looks, you can see how it's been done which gives you a chance to try it out. You can even create a more simple look by not adding the jewels or the glitter till the evening.   Another one of my favourites is the lips, when you don't want heavy eye make up, even it out with a heavy lip for the day time and add blood for the evening, that would look great with those black lips. Halloween has become partly glamorous over the years, bringing a bit of beauty to the dead hasn't done any harm.

 Being a bit Dramatic

These looks are fabulous if you are heading to a Halloween party. It's an occasion were dramatic and OTT are welcome. They are basic fun designs but with extra detail, so it gives you the change to try them out or to add your own twist. I'm not very good with creating different looks, I'm very safe when it comes to make up, but these looks are done so well, they look easy to follow. You can do a lot when it comes to different characters, changing the colours, mixing and matching, adding wigs and jewels. Becoming someone else for the evening sounds fun and if you are a scaredy cat like me, try out a scary make up look and go on a scarefest, have fun scary others for a change.

The Traditional Looks

Halloween costumes have changed over the years and there is a wider range, you can become any character you create. But Halloween isn't Halloween if you don't see a witch, vampire, ghost, or even a half dead person costume. when I was younger my costume was always a ghost, all I needed was an old sheet and a pair of scissors to cut three holes out for the eyes and mouth, and I was sorted. If you want a simple easy costume keep traditional. You can always develop the look, like the pictures to the side are ones I picked from google, for the bottom right picture, tutorials on how to create the zip look are on youtube. One of my friends created the zip look last year but she did the whole face, it was disgusting but amazing.

Your outfit is not complete without nail art. This has become one of my favorite things this year, it's like my new hobby, always wanting new nail art. You can find loads of different pictures all over the Internet and different tutorials on how to do them. When I got my nails done for Rome, I found a picture of what I wanted and took it to my local nail salon. If your good at doing your own give it ago, there are loads of different tools and guides to show you. Celebrities have great nail art so searching your favorite celebrity nails is a good idea.
Below is a guide on how to do skull nail art, you can turn that into pumpkin's or a cat's if you like, its the same process just adding the extras.

I hope you have enjoyed my Halloween blog post, this is my second one which means I have been doing my blog for over a year now and I would just like to thank all my readers, I enjoy doing it and its great to see people viewing it.  Give any of the looks above a try and if you do, tweet or instagram me them, I would love to see, details are in my contacts page. For any other ideas on costumes or treats, check out my other Halloween post. whatever your doing this Halloween enjoy and be safe.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
