Thelovely Laura at Shimmer of Pink asked me if I'd be interesting inposting on her blog as a guest for her summer theme and of course I said yes! Ithought I'd chat about glamming it up for the festival session.
When you live in Scotland it can be really challenging to wear summery clothesbecause of the weather. The sun can be beating through your window at 8am andby 1pm its torrential rain! This is annoying at the best of times but whenyou're partying in a field at T in the Park or Rockness you need to beadaptable.
Maxidresses and skirts may seem like the perfect Boho look but if it rains you'llsoon be pulling a ton of mud along with you, not to mention people stepping allover the hem. Jeans are also a no no because they have a tendency to stay wetfor the whole day.
Shorts, dresses and shorter length skirts are your best options they look great withsandals but you can also slip on some tights and wellies if it gets too wet andmuddy.
Layers, layers, layers this is something I can't stress enough. Even if the weather isgorgeous by day, it will cool down by night. Vest tops, t shirts and thin knitswill keep you warm and be thin enough not to become a hassle.
A light weight, waterproof jacket and hat are more essentials. The jacket is amust for keeping you nice and dry and after a day or two of not washing yourhair a hat becomes your best friend!
Wellies are the obvious footwear choice for muddy conditions but even if it’s scorchingdon't wear flip flops or sandals that expose you toes - people will stand onthem. I'd go for cute little flat shoes or some ankle boots.
Finally wear loads of jewelry and accessories to dress up your look, but only wearinexpensive costume pieces. The last thing you want is to lose is yourfavourite necklace and ruin your festival experience.
Here are a couple of myfavourite festival looks from Glastonbury:
