In 2006 Sophia Amoruso launched an eBay store comprising of vintage clothes, shoes and accessories which she sourced from various thrift stores around San Francisco. One such item included a Chanel jacket which she purchased from the Salvation Army for just $8, then sold on for $1000. Over the course of five years Sophia managed to turn a small online retailer into a global empire with over 550,000 customers in 60 different countries.

In 2012 Sophia expanded her skills into publishing with a semiannual lifestyle magazine entitled 'Super Nasty' which was included free with customer orders. The magazine included contributions from creatives such as Lesley Arfin, Kesh, Terry Richardson and Charli XCX amongst others.
This year Sophia has released a book entitled #GIRLBOSS which has been described as 'ballsy secrets in a self-help business memoir that every career-minded woman should have in her back pocket' by Elle Magazine. The book covers a lot of ground and encourages readers to learn from her mistakes, victories, and outlook on life.
Sophia Amoruso is one of the many modern women of our time who are paving a new direction for young women who want to succeed and live their dreams in a male dominated and restrictive world by acting on opportunities and not taking no for an answer.
