Geospatial Technologist

Job Description

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced Geospatial Technologist in our Mapping and Imaging Department.  The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Data feature extraction/compilation, interpretation of LiDAR Intensity Imagery;
  • Create a variety of digital mapping/remotely sensed products using various software platforms;
  • 3-D Laser Scanning Processing and Elevation data Processing and Manipulation;
  • Compute aerial triangulation;
  • Stereo compilation of accurate large-scale, three-dimensional datasets from aerial photography and satellite sources;
  • Creating geometrically and radiometrically accurate digital orthophoto imagery.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years related experience in this field;
  • A diploma or degree in Photogrammetry, Geomatics or Drafting from a recognized post secondary institution; would prefer a candidate with the ability to achieve a professional designation (i.e. CET)
  • Excellent working knowledge and experience processing LiDAR data;
  • Solid understanding and experience with digital orthophoto software; and
  • Skills with Excel and soft copy workstation software
