Geeky Weekend in Review

Starting my geeky weekend off with a bang by switching up my work computer’s desktop of this lovely Serenity wallpaper. You can get it here.

I was having lady troubles on Saturday so I spent most of the day playing Rift and watching Doctor Who, continuing with the geeky theme. I’ve only just started watching the show. I’m starting with the modern version, the ninth doctor. I’m really enjoying it.

It’s not banana pancakes, but this oatmeal with banana slices, walnuts and coconut was a perfect way to warm me up Sunday morning.

Chad and I took a little stroll around the neighbourhoods on Sunday. I saw this shirt from Coy Depot in the Arts Market and couldn’t help but think of our awful mayor. Someone should let him know.

We also stopped in at VV, where I got this cookbook I didn’t have and some cute Pyrex bowls.

Other than that, I read a lot. I finished Dark Place and now I’m starting Wild, so that’s scratching off a few of the books I need to read before the movies come out.

I was really saddened to learn of the death of Philip Seymour Hoffman on Sunday morning. He was a brilliant actor, Chad’s favorite in fact. He had so many more stories to tell. It’s a tragic loss.
