Gas Station Robbery Suspect Drives More Than 140 Mph on Highway 290, Crashes into a Curb

Harris County, Texas – Early Wednesday Harris County gas station robbery turns into high-speed police chase on the highway.

The police said they located the vehicle with the help of a tracking device.

The robbery happened on a gas station at a Circle K on Jones Road, northwest of Jersey Village and the chase started shortly after around 2.30 a. m.

At one point during the chase the running vehicle hits more than 140 mph.

The suspect went eastbound on Highway 290 to the 610 Loop and then back the other direction on 290.

A spike strip flattened at least one of his tires, and he crashed into a curb.

The man reportedly escaped the vehicle but was arrested after short pursuit.

The identity of the suspect is still unknown.
