Summer is in full swing here in Kolkata with temperatures reaching 42 degrees, and though a couple of Nor'westers have brought some much needed relief, the humidity hasn't really abated. With such a clammy, sweaty, uncomfortable weather I really don't feel like putting on too much goop on my face, and have been sticking (pun unintended!) to essentials that are light, let my skin breathe and give me a natural, yet well-put-together look. On a day-to-day basis, I can't live without my TM, powder and kajal, and a hint of blush lifts up my complexion and mood like magic! For lips I prefer balmy, light-weight, sheer to medium coverage glossy lipsticks that are low-maintenance and easy to touch-up on the go. Pink, peach and coral are the colours that I love sporting through summer, and this look is my go-to 'pinky' make-up for hot and humid days.
Products used after basic preliminary CTM:
- Base: Biotique Bio Redwood Naturally Tinted Moisturiser SPF 30 in Olive
- Setting powder: Avon Ideal Luminous Pressed Powder in Medium Wheat
- Brown Kohl to tightline: Lakme Eyeconic Kajal Brown
- Pale dusty rose Blush: Korres Zea Mays Powder Blush in Pink
- Glossy pink Lipstick: Avon Smooth Minerals SPF 15 Lipstick in Cranberry
That's it! No concealer, no brow-pencil, no mascara - the whole look literally takes 5 minutes to put together, and I see a bright, glowing and fresh face everytime I look into the mirror. It is a look I've been wearing a lot lately, with minor variations in the shade of lipstick/blush and the colour/shape of the kohl. Sometimes I use a peachy-coral lipstick and peachy-pink blush to make it a sweet, fresh and understated peachy-flush make-up look. Best for hurried mornings, best for hot summer days, really good for work-related meetings and/or lunch dates - total win-win in my book! :D
