Last month marked my 1 year wedding anniversary. We celebrated by taking a trip to Napa Valley, California with a group of friends. The trip was one of those “bucket list” experiences I will never forget, but the time leading up to the trip made me think carefully about how traveling can really de-rail healthy habits.
I left for the trip during a stretch of clean eating and devoted kettlebell workouts. I could feel my body changing and my habits starting to form. I liked what was happening, but I know myself all too well: would my healthy habits survive a trip full of amazing dinners, wineries and late nights?
