Running outside in the summer is no easy feat. You need to make sure you are properly hydrated, are protected from the sun and don't sweat to death. Add to all that the fact that your pace slows during runs over 60 degrees Fahrenheit (check out the chart below) and you've got a recipe for a slow slog of a run.

I've been ok with my nice slow runs, but now that marathon training is about to begin, I need to start doing some speed work and really getting my butt in gear. My podcasts, as much as I love them, aren't big pick-up-the-pace motivators. Music, on the other hand, can really get the kicks a'movin, so I wanted to put together a playlist to get me in the mood for moving!

When I starting thinking about the songs that make me smile, I immediately was taken back to the late 90s/early 2000s when pop music was at it's finest. Boy bands, girl bands, the Britney/Christina battle - good times. I just loved bopping along to all those poppy beats while rocking my butterfly clips and beaded bracelets. Ah, memories.

Anywho, I'm excited to push myself while running to this feel good pop running playlist. I'm totally going to sing along without any shame whatsoever.

You probably have all these songs already (if you don't - you're dead to me - just kidding... buuuuuut you should get them stat). Otherwise, just follow my playlist on Spotify!

After you jam out like the rock star that you are, be sure to add your links to the Wild Workout Wednesday Link Up! Link up rules here.
