Hey There,
To be honest with you all, this year is going a little bit too quickly for my liking, the only good thing about it being March, is that Spring is around the corner. This means new trends, new colours and hopefully some sunshine.
February was a busy month for me, but I obviously still had time to have fun with new products, (There is always time for this). Here are the ones that stood out most for me in February.
For a while now I have been using the budget self tan, St.Moriz (£5.00), but feeling the urge to splash out on some tan, (And treat myself), I opted for Xentan (£15-17.00) self tan mousse. And I am oh so glad I did. The Xentan (Mousse) is so easy to apply, (Using a mitt), and is probably the only tan I have used which hasn’t leaked through on to my hand, (No orange stained fingers for me). The tan comes in a vanilla fragrance, which helps to disguise that fake tan smell, (Although I have to admit I quite like that biscuit scent), it applies streak free, and lasts for a few days. It tells you to leave on for at least three hours before washing off, so as I do with all my tans, I applied it over night.
Xentan (Med/Dark) is so natural looking, but can be built up over a couple of days for a darker look. Although I will never give up my St.Moriz, I am definitely now a Xentan fan. I haven’t taken any before and after photos, as to be quite frank with you, you don’t want to see that, I don’t think any one is ready to see me half-naked, even if it is for the purpose of my fake tan post.
I am not sure about you, but recently my Instagram feed, has become in undated with contouring pictures, and of course this has made me obsessed, (And I mean obsessed), with contouring videos, products, looks, and Make Up Artists, (You get the picture). I was lucky enough to be given the Sleek Contouring and Blush Palette (In Light £10.00), as well as some Real Technique contour brushes for Christmas, and this month I have found it hard to put the kit down. I tend to use the bronzer on my jaw line, and to define my cheek bones, I then highlight under the brow, top of the cheek, down the middle of the nose and in the cupids bow.
I actually ordered some cream based contour make up yesterday, (Very excited for its arrival), to be able to get a more ‘Kim Kardashian’ contour look, (As if that will ever be possible…But I can dream)… I want to be able to create a more contoured and highlighted look, especially for evening wear. The Sleek kit is great for keeping a natural day time look, and can be used to set the cream base and finishing the look off, (It wont be long now and I will be a pro).
If you follow me on Instagram (Kkbrelsford), you will have seen that I have managed to persuade my mum to give up her Dior BB cream, and pass it on to me, (Oh I have the powers of persuasion). It just so happened that it matched my skin perfectly, and was slightly to light for my mums skin tone, so it didn’t take long for me to talk her into handing it over, (Oh I know it sounds bad, but I cant afford £34.95 for a BB cream, even if it is amazing). When I first saw this in my mums make up box, I knew I had to try it. I was overly excited when she actually let me, (I know I am sad, but I love make up). The Hydralife BB Creme by Dior, combines the coverage of a foundation with the hydration of a moisturiser, with an added protection of SPF30. What I love most about this Dior Creme is how fresh, and healthy it makes my skin look. It illuminates my face, and creates a flawless complexion.
Next on my February favourites is Benefit Cosmetics Rockateur Blusher, (£23.50). I had been admiring this blush from a far, after hearing a few bloggers rant and rave about it, I finally made the purchase after watching a friend have her make up done, at the Benefit counter. Luckily for me, what suits her tends to suit me, (Both blondes you see). The blusher is rose gold, and gives a gorgeous subtle burst of color to the cheeks. I usually opt for the Coralista, so if you’re a fan of that to, you will definitely love Rockateur.
To finish my February favourites, my last product is Loreal’s Million Lashes Mascara (£11.00), (Purchased under the influence of the same friend). I have recently posted a full review on this Mascara, and it has made it onto my February favourites, as it is the next best thing to my fave high-end mascaras…Definitely worth a try.
WHAT HAS MADE IT ON TO YOUR FEBRUARY FAVOURITES LIST?
Lots of love,
KB xx
