Liver transplants are on the rise among young US adults. And the most prominent reason is the explosion in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which now affects one in three adults and one in ten children.

NAFLD is closely tied to a cluster of metabolic diseases like type 2 diabetes, obesity and metabolic syndrome, which all are improved on a low-carb diet (read more below).
