Fashion Designer | James Perse

By Beautybykaris @beautybykaris
Hey there, When I was younger I thought I knew a lot about fashion, (I definitely did not) I would sit there all day drawing dresses and shoes, creating numerous looks under the ‘Karis Brelsford’ fashion shop. But it has only been these last couple of years where I have really felt comfortable in my own fashion style, and the whole concept of ‘fashion’ (Although the days of my famous fashion designer dreams and sketches are long gone). I’ve always found my style to be quite casual, and I don’t always follow the trends, but one thing I definitely find myself always going back to is the classic cut, basic attire. James Perse is a designer I’ve only become aware of recently, but find a lot of his designs have that relaxed concept I like. Minimal colour, and a lot of neutral gray and white pieces. When I look at some of his items, I think of beaches, the coast and Sundays. James Perse has been building his self titled line since 1994, and the style (As I imagined) is synonymous with his West Coast home and lifestyle. His design aesthetics is ‘low maintenance high fashion’, mastering the art of luxury, classic casualwear.  The clothes are clean cut with no embellishment, perfect layering pieces and wardrobe essentials ranging from cotton tees and sweatpants to silk shirts. Even Kim Kardashian is a fan! She talks about his cotton hoody here. One of my favorite pieces from his collection, is this open back, black dress, (As lets face it, you can’t ever have too many black dresses, right?), this is available at Avenue32. What would you say your style was? Lots of Love, KBxx *This post was a collaborative post.
