HOLLYWOOD—It’s not only the celebrities that love Christian Louboutin’s, fashionistas who can afford them buy them too. So it should come as no surprise that the subject of a design museum’s exhibition will take place in London from March 28 through July 1, 2012. The exhibition will showcase the designer’s work along with a coffee-table book that documents the shoe-centric’s work. Director David Lynch who wrote and directed the 2001 psychological thriller “Mulholland Drive,” photographed some of the designer’s creations and the book’s foreword was written by John Malkovich. Fashion and beauty certainly collided on the runway on October 3, in West Orange, New Jersey at the Pleasantdale Chateau. The event was presented by founders Jack and Maria Panico to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute. As the champagne flowed and made its way around the room, some of the biggest names in fashion were showcasing their new collections. Designers such as Dolce Vita, Devon Thomas, Ari, Bound+Tide, Teresa Rosati, Theia and Monique Lhuillier transformed the catwalks into high-fashion. The designers showcased everything from bathing suits to lavish evening gowns. The fashions of Ari Soho for men where relaxed and comfortable. While Paris Fashion Week had some of the A-list celebrities at hand, such as Salma Hayek, Ciara and Jennifer Hudson, just to name a few. Fashion & Beauty Week in New Jersey had reality TV stars such as the cast of “Jerseylicious,” and “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” fitting right in the front row of the runway shows. One of the cast members of the show ”Jerseylicious,” Tracy DiMarco showed up with her trademark big hair and signature smokey eye look. Tracy who was extremely friendly, showed up with her boyfriend Corey Epstein. Miss DiMarco is an aspiring singer along with cast member Gigi of “Jerseylicious,” who is currently singing in a recording studio in New York City. Judging from the reaction the girls loved seeing “Spin Crowd’s,” Jonathan Cheban. The beauty of Miss New Jersey along with Mrs. New Jersey added to the ambiance. The spectacular two-day event concluded on October 4, with more designers including Bound + Tide, Jay Godfrey, Jensen Martin with William Rast, Esposito, Adrian Alicea, Sandra Baquero, Marisa Kenson and Pamela Dennis. The final evening concluded with a dessert showcase and an after party featuring Time Machine Entertainment. A hot fall trend that I didn’t see at the fashion show was PJs. Daytime sleepwear has become a real eye-opener. The pajamas are taken out of the bedroom and are being passed off as daywear-mostly in the look of silk printed pants and tops. Many fashionistas are discovering that the daywear pajamas have a fluid identity that feels normal to conclude the night in jammies. Go figure, it’s a sleeper hit, bringing back the images of icon Hugh Hefner who would lounge around all day in his all-day pajamas lifestyle. Like many things in fashion, this particular look might take time to reach the masses. I have personally seen many people wearing pajamas during the day. I firmly believe that the trend stems back from the time the late Michael Jackson showed up for a court appearance dressed in pajamas. Rose’s Scoop: If you are planning on attending any Halloween parties this year, the trend is TV-themed costumes with one of the most popular being the “Kim Kardashian Costume,” along with the “Charlie Sheen Mask.” Another hot commodity is the zombie look of “ The Walking Dead.” Photograph is Courtesy: Kelly Olszuk
