This is one of my most amazing looks I would say. As this was a concept that came in my mind a few days back and I am happy to execute it now. Eyeshadow swaps would be 2 posts consisting of interchanging of the mid tone color and crease color to create two different combinations of makeup looks that look stunning and fabulous.
For the first series of eyeshadow swaps I used my most favorite eyeshadows from the the stash. The famous Tom Ford Eyeshadow Quad in Cognac Sable and Guerlain Eclat 4 eyeshadows in Velours D'Or from which I have chosen the mid toned coppery brown and plush plummy purple color to begin with.
In the first look, I have used the mid tone coppery brown eyeshadow on the lid and the plummy purple in the crease. So lets see how to do this eye look step by step....
Prepare the skin and apply some foundation. Kindly pardon me for my blemishes though. They are visibly fading. I have used the Christian Dior Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear foundation as a light base.
Conceal the under eyes with Clinique All About Eyes concealer and set with some YSL Matte and Radiance Pressed Powder.
Prime the lids with eyeshadow primer like Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Line the eyes with Maybelline's Eye Studio Gel Liner in Black. Wing it out like Charlotte Tilbury does.
Immediately smudge to create smokey haziness. I was a bit tardy and which is why I got that little unblended patch (sorry!!). This gel liner has a quick dry down time and I miscalculated that.
To add intensity and depth, I applied the matte black color from Velours D'Or palette on the stencil that I had drawn and smoked it out with a MAC 217 brush.
With a crease brush I applied the plummy purple color in the entire crease and blended it towards the brow bone. The thicker and darker the crease, the bigger the eyes can look.
As a highlight I used the golden beige shimmer eyeshadow in the inner corners and on the brow bone. On the entire lid I applied the coppery brown eyeshadow. It looks quite intense with the darker colors in the perimeter.
On the entire lower lid I used the plummy purple eyeshadow to create a hazy smoke. On the outer corners I applied the black to create a lovely transition.
Add some more purple in the crease and blend it to create a seamless haze.I also cleared the minimal fall outs in the under eye area using the reapplication of foundation as the eraser.
Line the waterline with the same Maybelline Gel liner. Its very intense and stays true for longer times. I apply 2 layers to get my desired intensity.
Thinly line the upper lash line to create an illusion of fuller lashes. I also groomed by brows and set them with MAC clear brow gel.
Curl the lashes and apply dollops of YSL Faux Cils Mascara in Noir Radical. This creates dramatic lashes that look very chic and fluffy. Btw the effect was more stunning in person than the photographs. To add extra dimension to the look I added some copper shimmer from the Cognac Sable on the center of the lid.
With looks this intense, sometimes its better to pick up a theme. So I picked up the 'plum and gold' theme. For the blush, sweep on a whisper of MAC Plumfoolery and highlight with Guerlain Sun in the City golden highlighter.
Finish the lips with my favorite lipstick from Clinique called Chocolate Raspberry by applying it as a stain. This look can be very surreal and beautiful if achieved perfectly and looks amazing well for a lovely candlelit dinner.
