Yesterday I introduced you to my new friend Morena and her super cute son. We met for a weekend play date so our two red headed toddlers could continue their bonding experience! Modena has MANY beautiful public parks, so we met at Parco Amendola and it was a beautiful, hot and sunny day.
I wanted to make a good first impression so I put a lot of effort into what I wore to the park!
Jeggings and a Crop Top – What I Wore
By effort I mean I squeezed into these jeans…..ahhhh these pants…they have a story. I bought them online from ASOS in January or February. Between Canadian sizes, Us sizes, European sizes, UK sizes and Italian sizes I always get confused when trying to understand WHAT MY SIZE IS!
These jeans arrived, I LOVED the style but they were SO TIGHT! LIKE SOOOOO TIGHT, that I COULDN’T EVEN FIT MY FOOT THROUGH THE PANT LEG HOLE!!! How it is even possible that someone has SKINNIER FEET THAN ME is beyond my understanding.
I called AOS since you have to pay for delivery if you return something. I photographed the measurement of these jeans stating that the sizes on the site were misleading and I didn’t actually know IF they fit since I couldn’t get my feet through to the other side to try them on!!! They accepted the return and agreed to pay for shipping but then I realized…..
- I really didn’t feel like waiting for an hour at the post office with my toddler
- These jeans only cost 15 Euro
- I had just started a 100 day shopping ban, so if I returned them I would have to go another 3 months without anything new!! and….
- I could CUT THEM!
What if these jeans were the jeans I had been waiting for my whole life, and here I was about to return them for the silly reason that I couldn’t get my foot through the pant leg hole – I was wasting possibly the greatest fashion find of my life, and why?? For the stupid reason that they were so tight that I couldn’t even try them on.
So I cut them my friends, I have the habit of cutting a lot of the things I own (you may have seen the makeover I did to my boots on Instagram!) it usually works out, and when it doesn’t….well… I wear them anyway!
So what happened after cutting them? They are still really really really TIGHT!!! But I wore them anyway, and just breathed out for the remainder of the day instead of letting my lungs ever expand with air!
God forbid that the pressure on the waistline of these puppies caused the button to pop and severly injure innocent passersby. So I took one for the Fashion Team and continually exhaled.
My jeggings (which aren’t jeggings AT ALL since jeggings are made with elastic fibers and have some give, and THESE jeans have no give what so ever) were paired with a peach crop top found online on sale (I wrote about the trend and this super deal here), a Zara blazer, my red nike trainers (also seen here).
The Reason I Dressed – Parco Amendola
We met at Parco Amendola, a gorgeous park that has man made lakes with turtles and ducks, a large children’s playground, a caffe and bar, trampolines (!!!), bike paths, artificial hills for sunbathing, a leashless dog area and live music venues.
I love riding my bike here a few times a week with my son and feeding the ducks. Seniors get a special pass to sport fish in the man-made lakes that are filled with huge fish, my son LOVES looking at the men as they fish. We usually spend a few hours at the park with my son sitting dangerously close to the water with a stick saying “Mamma I fish”, pulling him away from this exciting pass time results in serious temper tantrums, so I’ve just learned to stay close and enjoy catching me some tadpoles!
