Event: Launch of Philips VisaPure

By Beautifulbuns

I’ve always been a gadget girl since my days at CLEO, when I would respond to frantic calls from damsels in distress who were being attacked by the evil monster (read: their blog posts weren’t aligned properly and I had to fix their html coding). I like gadgets of all sorts, so when I saw this invite, I was totally psyched – Philips was launching its own cleansing device. Yay!

Le marketing manager giving le opening speech…

… before she unveils the Philips VisaPure facial cleansing device! P.S. They look vaguely like snow cones from here.

Celebrity makeup artist Andy Lee is one of the members of the panel, and he talked about how important it was to have good skin. “Makeup should enhance skin, and not cover your skin,” says the maestro. I concur.  Now teach me how to get better skin nao nao nao.

The demonstration begins! Andy Lee is adorable! Look at how cheerful he is, gamely posing with two oranges.

Gone are the smiles – Andy Lee switches into professional mode, applying makeup onto the orange (which is supposed to represent our skin)

Applying benefit’s cleanser onto the orange and then using the VisaPure on one orange and his hands on the other orange.

Voila! Need I say more? The difference is very obvious. You can click on the photos to enlarge them and see for yourself.

It’s quite a long cleanser – I was expecting something slightly shorter and more compact.

How it’s stored / charged – the ventilated gaps allow for the water to evaporate and drip dry. It also comes with 2 types of brush heads (normal, sensitive) in the package. An additional exfoliation brush head is also available at $21.

I asked the same question you guys are probably asking – what’s the difference between this and the Clarisonic? Here’s what they replied:

  • It cleans 10x cleaner than the Clarisonic’s 6x.
  • It comes with dual motion ie instead of circular (left to right, right to left), it also goes up and down (think the horses at the carousel merry-go-round)

Philips VisaPure is available at major electrical and departmental stores at S$229.

  • Normal skin replacement brush head – $14
  • Sensitive skin replacement brush head – $16
  • Exfoliating skin replacement brush head – $21

I can’t wait to try this out and write a review
