Most normal people dislike working on Saturdays, so I was pretty surprised both by myself and the number of editors/journalists who turned up at Saturday’s Lancome event. Well then again, it is Lancome, so I guess the incentive was there (along with the possibility of freebieeesss)
I actually had no idea what to expect until I turned up and realised, ohhhhh this was a beauty fashion show. Lancome collaborated with Alber Elbaz, artistic director of Lanvin to launch a special makeup collaboration, and to commemorate this, either 8 (or 9?) famous Singaporean makeup artists (including Grego, Yuan Sng, Dollei Seah, Peter Khor and more) created a series of looks using this special collection. The models were outfitted by local designer Mae Pang.
It was a vague madhouse since it was held in Sephora at ION Orchard, and there were shoppers everywhere along with invited guests. Thankfully, I found several pals from CLEO and Her World, but not-so-thankfully, I also saw the ex-colleague who unceremoniously deleted me off Facebook the day I resigned. Ah well, commence Operation Do-Not-Make-Eye-Contact-Or-Else-I’ll-Have-To-Make-Awkward-Small-Talk.
