ESSIE Hide & Go Chic Spring 2014 Collection Swatches and Review

By Fleurissante

Hello lovelies,

when I first saw the promo of Essie Hide & Go Chic collection I was underwhelmed. After seeing swatches, I was a bit more interested which led me to ordering a mini set. Later, I decided to order the two missing shades from color4nails.

Once I’ve seen it, I’ve fallen in love with it.

Let’s skip to swatches (2 coats, no base or top coat):

Spin the Bottle is one of my favorite shades from the collection. It is the perfect nude for my skintone. This is a pale beige with pink undertone. The formula is a thin crelly. It is sheer in one coat, but perfectly opaque in second coat.

Romper Room is a pale pink crème which looks almost white on my nails. I hate the formula of this shade – thick, chalky and difficult to apply.

Fashion Playground is a pale minty green crelly. It has a tiny silvery shimmer, which isn’t visible on the nails (similar to shimmer from Essie summer 2013 collection). The formula is thin and uneven. This one needs at least three coats to be completely opaque.

Truth or Flare is a light blue with a hint of periwinkle in it. It is a thin crelly. Like Fashion Playground, this one needs 3 coats to be fully opaque.

Hide & Go Chic is a medium dark blue with a hint of teal. The formula is crème, but isn’t chalky at all. The formula is thick and it is almost opaque in one coat.

Style Hunter is a reddened fuchsia pink. The formula is crème, slightly thick, but easy to apply. It is opaque in one coat.

I actually like all the shades with the exception of Romper Room.

Did you get anything from this collection?

xoxo Tamara
