ESPA Treatments on Arrival at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya Hainan

By A Beauty Feature @abeautyfeature

ESPA at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya is a sumptuous 2,788 square meter spa is a destination in its own right. Upon crossing an elegant stone bridge, guests embark upon a spa journey that is quintessentially ESPA. Beyond the welcome area lies an enchanting internal courtyard which features a Koi carp pond, lushly manicured landscapes, rock gardens and soothing water features designed to relax the mind and inspire the senses to enhance inner peace. At this point we met the ESPA Spa Manager Khun Somsuk Nakwatcharadilok, Suki as she is also known hails from Thailand and has worked in China for nine years. If there is an aspect ESPA and the team in Sanya knows about, it’s how to get that city overworked mind and body into the spa moment, a moment planned correctly will last your entire stay.

ESPA at The Ritz-Carlton Sanya is a luxurious destination reminiscent of the legendary opulence of Chinese emperors. The light air filled lobby of the hotel is where you begin to feel relaxed so before you go to your guest room and forget that you need to unwind spa style, turn left and head straight to ESPA a spa that has 24 private treatment rooms, four of which feature Italian made baths carved from stone.

I can highly recommend three therapies that are combined to bring you into the feeling of relaxation you thought about when planning your vacation. The first is the ESPA Bathing Ritual, followed by Invigorating Body Renewal, then completed with an Aroma Massage. These three therapies would take around 2.5 hours and they will be the best 2.5 hours you can invest your time in. Once finished your mind and body is completely at home in Sanya, you will look forward to the nights rest, the stresses and tensions of any city life are washed away.

The ESPA bathing ritual takes around 30 minutes, you will be immersed into a deep tub of body temperature water, and your therapist will add the ESPA Restorative Bath Oil mine was a combination of peppermint, rosemary and eucalyptus, as well as the ESPA Detoxifying Seaweed Bath and some mineral bath salts. After your bathing ritual you will move to the massage bed to begin your invigorating body scrub of honey, rice, yogurt and coconut. This body scrub will remove all the dead cells so that the massage treatment oil will penetrate deep into the skin.

ESPA treatment rooms have in-room showers; you can easily rinse away the scrub returning to the massage table where the therapy room is once again freshly set up. If you have never experienced an ESPA massage, do not miss out on the opportunity. I am not a great massage fan, but this is one massage routine I would definitely have again. My therapist Ariel comes highly recommended; she understood that I did not want a grueling 1 hour treatment; the pressure was just perfect to help me feel at ease, take the tension out of the areas where I had tightness, using the ESPA Restorative Body Oil of the same essential oils used in the bathing ritual.

The feeling of relaxation will not leave you for days, you skin will have such a smooth and rejuvenated touch, but more importantly the total feeling of wellness and a clear mind, is exactly what Suki told us we would experience. My partner had the same treatment; his therapist was Angel commenting that the massage was excellent; the ritual bath was the best way to relax the muscles in preparation for the massage. We had planned a dinner that evening but we were so relaxed and content, we just cancelled dinner, went to the Club Lounge for a light snack and headed back to the guest room for good night’s sleep from ESPA and The Ritz-Carlton Sanya, welcome to your vacation.
