ELES Autumn Vibe

By Makemeupmandy @mandywebb28
I recently received a wonderful package from ELES. I would have been so happy receiving a package full of mineral makeup goodness but no, they had to outdo themselves by including a gorgeous flower headband and even a pair of ASOS sunglasses! The theme is Autumn Vibe and they obviously take it very seriously to help bloggers feel it. Am I feeling it? Yes, for sure!

From left: Dimensional Cake Liner in Plum Crazy & ELES Signature Shadow Quad in Debutante
Swatches for Plum Crazy   This cake liner really intrigued me. It comes in 2 parts: a matte & a shimmer shade. You're supposed to pair both up, using the matte shade to define and the shimmer shade to dramatize. I applied the matte side with a wet liner brush (a dry brush does not pick up the product very well; my swatch didn't pick it up well too but with a wet brush - whoa!) and then used the same brush to apply the shimmer. I quite love the dramatic effect it gives - definitely a interesting break from the usual black pencil liners I use.

The eye shadows all have a pearlescent sheen to them which I really love. These eye shadows give a smooth velvet finish and blend easily as they are "jet milled pigments". I tried the eyeshadows individually as well as altogether. They all apply really well, have great pigmentation and last well over 6 hours at least (that's how long I had it on before I cleaned it off) Overall, I like this quad - in fact, I love it and I have used it so much in the last month that it is looking a little well worn. I think it has a well balanced choice of shades for a gentler look or a more dramatic look. One of my fave quads at the moment.
ELES Mineral Blush Compact in Coral Sun
ELES Brow Blender Pencil, ELES Micro Bubble Lipstick   The ELES Micro Bubble Lipstick is a cream color and protective treatment in one. "The 'micro bubbles' continually release conditioners to keep lips soft and color fresh for hours". I don't know how it does it... but it just does! This is such a gorgeous shade and it's encased in such a sleek, stylish metallic looking design - love it! This is the first ELES lipstick I have tried and I am very pleasantly surprised by how moisturising it is. The formula is very creamy indeed and the color stays on for hours.
I also enjoyed the Brow Blender Pencil even though I usually use brow cake/powder. I generally dislike using pencils as I find they take more time to blend out and don't look as natural. I was interested to see how this one would fare and with its built-in brush, I really had nothing to worry about. The brush is great for blending and shaping.
I tried to recreate the Autumn Vibe look with the ELES products. If my hair is a little out of place, I apologize because I literally did this in less than 10 minutes. {While Ally was having afternoon tea and the baby was asleep}.

All I did was sweep the darkest shade across my eye lid, making sure I take it above my crease {damn hooded eyelids} and then I used the 2 lighter purple shades to blend out the top parts, giving it a beautiful purplish sheen to complement the darker purple layer. Then, I used the lightest shade to highlight under my brows and I used to highlight the inner corners of my eyes, making sure I pulled the eyeshadow outwards towards my nose bridge to create a more ethereal effect.

Blush, Brows, Lipstick. Done. I already had my base on in the morning so I really didn't take long at all to add on the colours. Oh, I did have put on false lashes which took the most amount of time really.
