Rafa went on his first ever easter egg-hunting event. Yay to firsts!
There were actually so many Easter events to choose from but we opted to go to the one in Acacia Hotel because theirs seemed better than the others (within Alabang) : BRUNCH BUFFET and FREE ENTRANCE for kids ages 2 and below -winner! Or so we thought...
On the day of the event, we came just in time to secure a nice table in the ballroom - at the back very far away from the stage, by the door and near the buffet area.
The decor was nice but it does not feel as festive as the event should be. It must be the gold table linens and the black seat covers - they're just too formal!
Anyway, right after we settled, Rafa and I immediately roamed around and took pictures.
They set up the whole area outside the ballroom for some pre-program activites such as face painting, kiddie salon station and coloring area. There were also stalls of the sponsors and a photobooth. Okay naman but I wish there were more activities pa like egg painting or anything creative especially for toddlers. It actually took a while before the program started and there weren't enough activities to keep the kids occupied. Rafa and I did some coloring but most of the time he was just playing with his own toys.

The Food:Sad to say, the buffet was a big disappointment.
People were complaining because they opened the buffet at past 12nn when it's supposed to be brunch. Worse, the spread that they served were children's party food.
Pizza, chicken, nachos, hotdogs, mac and cheese, lumpiang shanghai, mini burgers, fries....they are all perfectly fine - FOR SNACKS!
Ok, there was a salad bar and a dessert station, that's great. But SORRY, when you say brunch, I'm expecting there would be rice, toasts and scrambled eggs at least! We seriously felt cheated. :(
The egg-hunting, which is the main event, did not happen until the program (games, mascots, dancing and singing) ended at around 2:30 PM. The babies and toddlers were already cranky while the others fell asleep na. Actually at around 2 PM Rafa already wanted to go home - he was already tired and sleepy. Us too. Kaso sayang if we'll miss the egg-hunting which is why were there in the first place!
Overall, the event was okay and I'm sure all the kids had fun. But, I just hope next time, the organizers would consider doing the egg-hunting first before the program when the kids especially the toddlers are still in the best mood. And, I hope they'd be more systematic too. Kasi even though they categorized the egg-hunting by age (toddlers, 5-8, 9-12), it still turned out chaotic. Why? Kagulo because the whole family including the yayas were hunting together with the kids too. Imagine a kid plus daddy, mommy and yaya hunting for eggs - grabe! Kawawa the kids who didn't get as much eggs, it's so not fair!
I suggest next time they should limit it to just one baby/child + one adult only para mas maayos and fair.
Nonetheless, Rafa went home happy and that's all that matters. Next year, we'll go to Makati naman...
