Dream Job of Kristin Anderson

By Dreamjobdiva

I have met Kristin somewhere in 2011 in The Hague, while our neighborhood center has organised a gathering and since than we have been meeting every now and than. Kristin is one creative and kind person, always a pleasure to talk to.

Name: Kristin Anderson

Country: Originally from Solvang, California, USA. Currently residing in The Hague, The Netherlands

What is your dream?

When I was about 9 years old, one of my classmates called me Mother Nature based on my tom-boyish demeanor and my enthusiastic enjoyment of the outdoors.Let’s just say I wasn’t pleased. Today, I view this off-handed remark as a prophetic compliment. My dream is to live in a natural setting with a group of inspired friends who share a common philosophy of peaceful communication, respect of nature and who want to make positive change in the world. There would of course be literature, trips to the museum and organic café lattes involved! I would hope for a community of people who are grounded, yet excited by life. My role in this community would involve writing and communication. And this brings me to my dream job.

What is my dream job?

Although I live in The Hague, a large city by many calculations, I have an affinity for nature and have always dreamed of working in a field that would support the natural environment. Thus I could picture working for an organization that works on important global environmental issues, such as the UNESCO IHE Institute for Water Education, in a writing and communications role. My other passion is writing, and I have written throughout my life, though mainly for others. I was the Marketing Director of an architectural firm, I have contributed to the writing of books, edited books and written freelance articles for local and regional publications in the United States. Now my writing focus is on environmental fiction, but with a special niche—eco-romance.

How did you achieve your goal = dream job? / how do you plan to achieve your goal=dream job?

I think the best way to achieve my career goal is to do the research, find an organization that meets my criteria and then network. Job skills are indispensible, but networking and connecting is just as important an ingredient in getting your resume before the right people. Regarding my dream job of writing, I have just reached a life long goal! I published my debut novel Green last month! Here is a little teaser: Ranging from comedic and sexy to contemplative and heart wrenching, Green is the engaging story of discovering your core values through the curve balls life, love and the environment throw your way.

What is your tip to others concerning the Dream Job / Life?

My tips on embracing your goals are to:

1) give yourself permission to follow your dreams,

2) send your inner critic on vacation,

3) dedicate a minimum of 3 hours a week to your craft,

4) ask your family members to honor this time you have set aside for yourself and do the same for them,

5) create measurable, realistic and time specific goals and deadlines,

6) share your vision and successes with others,

7) network and use the skills you have to promote your dream.

Who are you?

And on that note, I might as well take my own advice! My debut novel Green is now available in paperback or kindle format on Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk, amazon.fr, amazon.au and more. Visit my author website www.authorkristinanderson.com for more information and Amazon links in multiple countries.
