DIY ✂ Shoulderless Sweater

( Full outfit post coming soon, once it is less than 80 degrees and I can wear this sweater without overheating. )

Shoulderless has been a look I have been loving for a while now… but my closet is getting a little tired of shoulderless teeschambray’s. I think it would be safe to say that I am crafty by nature, and always resourceful. Therefore, before I (or anyone for that matter) is giving something away, I like to think of a fun way I can tweak that item and turn it into something fabulous & fashionable. My girlfriend was ridding her closet of an old cashmere sweater, and I snatched it up quick. Not only because it was cashmere, although that was a plus, but I thought it would be a great candidate for a mini make-over. I decided that this somewhat conservative sweater could be easily spiced up with some skin baring shoulders. This is a SUPER easy DIY project that can be done to various items in your closet. Now let’s just hope my friend doesn’t try to indian give this adorable new piece.

Step 1: Gather your supplies. All you need is an old garment to work with, a bowl, and some sharp scissors ( I use Ginghers, as they are the BEST ).

Step 2: Place the bowl half way on the shoulder seem, about 3 inches from the collar. Cut around the bowl to get a good, even circle.

Step 3 & 4: Once you complete cutting the first side, be sure to save the piece you cut out. Using that piece, use it as a guide for the other side so that both sides are identical in shape.

Step 5: Trim up any uneven pieces to make a smooth cut, and now find a cute outfit to go with your new shoulderless sweater!
