DIY Pink Dyed Denim

By Fashionlushxx @fashionlushxx

I am not a huge fan of pink, but for some reason I have been on the search for some pinkish colored denim. I say pinkish because when it comes to that one hue in particular, I am rather picky. Somewhat like that old nursery rhyme, Goldilocks and the Three Bears… hard to get it just right.

Anyways, my favorite white jeans were looking a little worse for wear, and I figured they’d be the perfect candidate for a DIY dye job. It was easy, semi-quick, and turned out pretty cute (if I say so myself). Now I am just debating if they should be cut into shorts or not…. suggestions are more than welcome!

Now, for the steps…

Step 1: Grab the color of dye you want to use, and the piece you want to dye. I personally prefer Rit powder dye, which you can get at your local drugstore or Michaels craft store.

Step 2: Fill your washing machine up with hot water and get your jeans wet. Remove them from the water.

Step 3: Prepare your dye bath. Read the instructions on how to do this properly. Although all you really need is to empty your dye into the water… not too hard.

Step 4: Soak your garment in the dye bath for 30 minutes and than run the cycle.

** Be sure to rinse your machine out a few times so that you don’t dye your next load of laundry as well.**
