DIY Personalised Tea Light Holders

By Cinnamonspring @CinnaSpring

Who doesn’t love little tea lights? Better when it’s perfumed but best when the tea light is in a beautiful holder!

Hence, I decided to revamp my tea light holders using some printed cloth I purchased during one of my travels to Australia some time back.

It was a lot of fun using Mod Podge as a medium for the first time! It basically works as a glue, but also as a sealer as well so whatever you decide to mod podge onto the object looks like it was sealed onto it.What you need:
- Mod Podge (I used matte)
- Any fabric that you like
- Clear tea light holders
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pen
- Brush or sponge applicator
- Newspaper so your floor doesn’t get messy!Step #1:

Measure the width and length of the tea lightholder by placing it sideways onto the back of the fabric.Step #2:

At the end of the tea light holder, mark where it ends. Do add a few cm of space for perfect adjustments later! Step 3:

Cut the fabric as you want the strips of cloth to be ready when you are applying the mod podge onto the sides of the tea light holder. Mod podge dries fairly quickly!

Step 4:

Using a brush or sponge, slowly dip into the mod podge. Run the sponge along the sides of the tea light holder. Make sure you have an even amount on it!

Step 5:

Slowly place the strip of cloth onto the sides of the tea light holder. Make sure to smoothen the cloth so that there are no creases.

Step 6:

Wait for it to dry for around 15-20 minutes. Then add a layer of mod podge onto the fabric to seal it in and give it a nice matte finish! Leave it to dry for another 15-20 minutes.Voila! Now you have personalised tea light holders!Light your (perfumed) tea lights and enjoy your personalised tea light holders! x
