DIY Glitter French Manicure

By Cinnamonspring @CinnaSpring

Last Christmas, I received beautiful Ciate nail polish sets. I've never tried Ciate's nail polishes so was pretty excited to review them on my nails. It has been a long, long time since I last did a DIY nail tutorial. The last I did them was back in Bar school in the UK!

Anyway, since I wanted something classic on my nails I decided to go for the popular French Manicure (light pinkish base with a white tip). However, I'm never great at doing white tips so I decided to have a glitter tip. Not an uncommon nail tutorial, but here's how these Ciate nail polishes look like on my nails. I am impressed! What you need:

From L-R: Sally Hansen Base & Top Coat; Ciate in Sloaney, Sweetie & Ciate in Amazing Gracie
  1. Brush one layer onto nails as a base coat. Let it dry. Note: I am a serious fan of Sally Hansen's double duty base and top coat because they not only dry so quickly but they really protect my nails and nail polish!
  2. Brush one layer of Ciate's Amazing Gracie. I only used one layer and was impressed at the thickness of the polish. I liked how much the colour almost blends in with my skin. These didn't take too long to dry, and it didn't have a strong polish smell which was great.
  3. Once the Amazing Gracie polish has dried, brush a layer of Ciate's Sloaney, Sweetie over the tip of the nails. Let it dry and voila, you're done!
  4. You may wish to brush a top coat, but I was happy with the slight texture.
Ciate nail polishes in Sand Dune; Amazing Gracie & Sloaney, Sweetie. Grecian headband designed for DIY KL, of which the DIY kit will be available soon!

The Glitter French Manicure is one of the easiest nail polish DIYs to do especially when you have quick drying nail polish! I definitely can't wait to try the rest of my Ciate nail polishes!
