December Already?!

By Heathernichole
I can't believe it's December! And a month from now is 2016! I love this time of year for so many reasons. One of which is the fact that you run into friends from high school who are home for the holidays. I honestly think the last time I saw my friend Nikki was in January of 2013, right after I had met Stephen. And then one night, there she was in Trader Joe's. It was very exciting for both of us. So happy she was able to meet Stephen. She lives in a national forest, which we think is pretty cool. Stores like Trader Joe's are nowhere near where she lives.

This burger from Burger Lounge in town was amazing. Especially with cheese. Maybe because I hadn't had a cheeseburger in so long. I can't forget if I have mentioned it or not but yes, I'm eating cheese again. Full time. I'll do a whole other post on that.

Funny things happen when your parents bring boxes over from their attic. {Now that I have a house, they want all my stuff in my attic/garage.} I guess I had saved a lot of clothes from a while back. Not sure why but it was like I had gone shopping. I found one of my favorite shirts that I thought was long gone. I haven't been feeling too lean lately. But I'm so glad I'm not back to where I used to be. Photo on the left was from February of 2010. Taken in front of Mimi's Café in Mt. Juliet, TN.

Thanksgiving came so fast this year. I think it was because we were so focused on our wedding. We went to my in-law's house. Stephen did some cooking. I didn't do anything. I love that he takes the reigns when it comes to cooking for events. He's definitely the cook between the two of us. Nothing better than a man in the kitchen. {He didn't shave for No Shave November. He asked me if I want him to get rid of the beard now that it's December but I like it so he'll keep it for now.}

Our first Thanksgiving as Mr. & Mrs. and we matched. I didn't even plan it but it worked out. Awww.

I love watching my husband play with a baby. It just kills me. Can't wait until it's our baby.

We got our tree. I love it! We weren't able to put up a tree last year because we were in the process of moving and living with my in-laws. It was nice to get our own tree again.

Vader wasn't too happy about the tree because it took his spot. Usually his bed is in the front window and on Saturday mornings, he likes to sit there and look outside to see what's going on in the neighborhood. It's just temporary though. Now he sits next to the couch, which can be good...but not good at the same time. He expects Stephen to constantly rub him while he's sitting next to him.

I had been wanting an antler ornament. We went into Hobby Lobby one night and I laid eyes on this beauty. She literally took my breath away. She reminds me of Lisa Frank. She is my favorite ornament of all time. I haven't named her yet. Still working on that.

Monday, November 30th was the three year anniversary of our first meeting, our first date and the first time we kissed. {If you haven't read how we met click here.} I had a thin white box delivered to my desk while at work. It was addressed to Heather Meyer so I thought it was my new business cards with my new name. I opened it and I was surprised to find a message in a bottle from Stephen. Stephen has also told me not to make plans this weekend and I have to pack an overnight bag for somewhere cold. He has something planned for us. Can't wait!
